In this fun business simulation workshop we will:

  • Challenge groups to adapt
  • Simulate business as it translates to real life
  • Emphasize great leadership
  • Engage every person on your team
  • Deliver team building people will enjoy
  • Celebrate diversity and all skill levels
  • Positively impact your bottom line

The Eagle Glider Construction Challenge is an extremely entertaining and dynamic event for groups of all sizes. People are swept away with enthusiasm as the program progresses. Each person will have a chance to shine while they complete a ongoing selection of challenges as their team’s glider is built.

Groups need not be industrial design engineers or rocket scientists to do well with this challenge – just willing to play a little bit and take action decisively. The key themes this event focuses on are communication, collaborative presentation skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and strategy.

How the program works

During the course of the event, teams will have to deal with several curve balls that are not uncommon in the real world, such as, project modifications, staff changes, etc. At the end of the building process, teams will put together a group presentation that will highlight their accomplishments and “sell” their glider to the client.

Following the testing phase, there will be a facilitated debriefing session where the events will be dissected according to the concepts that were learned. This review will be invaluable to knowledge retention following the event. Participants will also have the chance to share what they observed and learned.

Finally, there will be an awards presentation where each team will be recognized for any outstanding elements of their project, and the coveted Eagle Glider Contract will also be given to the winning team.

How It Works

Your group will be broken up into teams to complete challenges on their phones using our smartphone app. Challenges are completed by submitting photos, videos and text responses. Points are awarded for each challenge with the more difficult ones being worth more. Teams will commit random acts of kindness in the community and improve the days of others with each completed challenge.

When teams sign into the app they will need to search for the activity and enter their password. Once logged in dozens of challenges that can be completed in any order will appear. Teams must search to find fun and unique solutions to each philanthropic challenge. The challenges range in difficulty from doing something simple like helping someone with heavy bags to doing something extraordinary like donating blood. Each challenge earns points and as teams climb the live leaderboard they are one step closer to being the kings and queens of kindness.

Check out our video introduction to our smartphone app:

HOW IT WORKS

Students start out by breaking up into teams. Each team will need one smartphone to download the team building app from the Apple App or Google Play store.

When it’s time to start, teams sign into the activity to start completing challenges around campus. For every challenge that teams complete correctly, they will earn points to move up the live leaderboard. Whichever team earns the most points before running out of time will be declared the Campus Goose Chase champions.

Check out the video introduction to our smartphone app:

Some teaser missions to give you an idea of what to expect

READ ALL ABOUT IT | 250 POINTS:
Find an issue of the student newspaper and take a picture of your team reading it.

Your student newspaper is an important source of information about what is happening on your campus. This challenge can help participants learn where to locate the newspaper, and also give them a chance to take a look at what kind of content is available inside.

BOOKWORMS | 500 POINTS:
Go to the campus bookstore, and take a picture of your team holding up textbooks relating to their majors.

This challenge helps accomplish two things. First, participants will learn exactly where the campus bookstore is located. Second, when participants are searching for textbooks relating to their majors, they will naturally get to know each better and start conversations based on their mutual interests.

SCHOOL SPIRIT | 1,000 POINTS:
Photograph your team showing their school spirit, with someone who is wearing a branded school t-shirt or sweater.

It’s always important for students to feel a sense of school spirit and community when they start at a new school. Locating and speaking with an experienced student who is wearing a branded t-shirt or sweater helps reinforce the brand of your school, and gets students who are not involved in the scavenger hunt excited and participating as well.

Reviews for Corporate Castaways

The Corporate Castaways activities were great and it was a fun atmosphere to gel with the group. We had some new employees just join our team so it was great for them to meet everyone right away and mesh personalities. The teamwork aspect of the challenges was similar to our work environment of sharing info/working with others for a common goal. ”

– Bell Distribution

Thank you for the Corporate Castaways day my colleagues and I experienced – we loved it. Even though it poured with rain, it was still tons of fun. I really liked how you didn’t have to be particularly strong or athletic, and how it really made you think together as a team. It was just a great time!”

An action-packed scavenger hunt in Seattle

The Amazing Chase team building activity is based on the popular reality television show. Teams take on an action-packed journey around the city while testing their ability to work together under pressure. In order to advance through each stage of the scavenger hunt, teams must work together to earn points by solving stimulating challenges that are designed to test their physical and mental skills.

Teams must rely heavily on communication and creative thinking to advance through the race solving challenges along the way. The team that solves the most challenges and makes it to the finish fastest are crowned the Amazing Chase champions.

Request More Information

Test your teamwork in a race against time!

The challenges that your team will encounter during the Amazing Chase are exciting enough on their own, but the added element of racing against other teams raises the stakes significantly. The goal of each team is to successfully complete challenges on a GPS guided journey around the city. Challenges are designed specifically for the city you are in. Teams will encounter the following situations along their routes:

  • Detours: teams will need to complete one of two task options before they can continue on a detour.
  • Route Markers: smartphone technology guides teams around the city with GPS and clues.
  • Road Blocks: each team will need to complete a unique and challenging task at each road block before continuing towards the finish.

Once the race is completed, an event coordinator will determine the winners by analyzing race data and results. Regardless of the winning outcome, everyone involved in this fun and stimulating team building activity will have a great time interacting with their coworkers and seeing the sights of the city.

Sample challenges:

Detour

High Tea. The British love a cup of tea! Follow their lead and take a break by your favorite tea house. While on route, collect disposable cups and recreate the tower of London by stacking these cups exactly one meter high. Photograph the structure next to a ruler as proof of its exact height.

Roadblock

Going Native. Designed to intimidate their opposition before battle, New Zealand’s Haka dance was feared across the land. It is time for your team to master this traditional dance, as per the instructions provided by the site host. Practice makes perfect! Prepare your dance until you’re ready to perform it in front of the site host. Once you’ve mastered the moves, a site host will provide you with the password required to unlock your next challenge.

We can run this event anywhere, in any time frame, for any group size

We create customized courses that will accommodate any outdoor city space you have chosen for your company event. With the help of smartphone technology, teams are easily able to follow GPS markers as they race the clock and other teams in a mad dash to the finish line.

The start and end locations of the Amazing Chase can be set up almost anywhere in your city. We recommend that your ending location be at an entertaining and relaxing destination where employees will feel comfortable sitting back and recounting the most funny and enjoyable parts of the race.

This engaging event will keep your employees entertained for approximately 3 hours. Teams will be outdoors for the majority of the activity so weather is something to take into consideration.

FUN PHOTO CHALLENGES GET SENT RIGHT TO YOUR SMARTPHONE!

On event day teams receive entertaining missions right on their smartphones using a cool app. Participants can do a quick scan through all the missions and decide which ones to take on and when. Rush through some of the seemingly easy ones to get warmed up, or head straight to the crazier ones to earn big points.

Check out our video introduction to our smartphone app:

Some teaser missions to give you an idea of what to expect

From handstands in elevators to kissing live lobsters, your team better be ready to face their fears!

ELEVATOR ACTION | 500 POINTS: Hop in an elevator with complete strangers, and once it starts moving, get down and do your best handstand! Capture the moment with a photo.

The reaction of bystanders to this mission is always hilarious. You know what it’s like to be in an elevator … people staring straight ahead, hesitant to look at anyone or say anything. It’s a bizarre phenomenon, and this mission will make it even more so.

COFFEE BAR STAR | 250 POINTS: Create a great Benihana-calibre teppanyaki routine at the condiment stand of your local coffee shop. The photograph must be an action shot!

Imagine standing in line for your daily cup of coffee when all of a sudden a group of people storms into the shop, heads directly to the cream and sugar station and then proceeds to throw packages of Splenda in the air while group members try to catch them with wooden stir sticks! Someone takes a picture and then just as quickly as they appeared, they’re gone! You know bystanders will have an interesting story to tell around the water cooler on Monday!

CROSS DRESSERS | 1000 POINTS: Find a pair with a passion for fashion and swap their outfits with two members of your team. Before and after photo proof is required.

We never thought teams would even try this. “Where are they going to find two (sane) people who want to give up their clothes?” We’re always surprised how many times we’re wrong! There is no shortage of people willing to trade clothes with total strangers under the guise of “Help-us-win-this-game!” It’s the odd couples that make this mission so much fun, like the construction workers who swapped outfits with the Japanese exchange students, or the lawyers and the mannequins in the store window!

SEE FOOD, KISS FOOD | 250 POINTS: Make friends with your favorite crustacean. Get a photo of you kissing a live crab or lobster.

Fishmongers like to have fun. Find a friendly one and request a brief encounter with one of his friends, Mr. Crab or Lobster. Just be sure to stay away from its claws ’cause claws and lips are a bad match!

EXPLORE Seattle WITH A WILD GOOSE CHASE SMARTPHONE SCAVENGER HUNT

HIT THE STREETS AND EXPLORE THE CITY IN A FAST AND FURIOUS TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITY

Get your team out of the office and discover Seattle with a fun scavenger hunt activity. Wild Goose Chase will get your team out into the city to take part in a friendly and fun competition. Your group will work together to strategize over scavenger hunt clues, and get silly to complete photo challenges around Seattle.

Teams complete Wild Goose Chase challenges using their smartphone devices. Participants will need to get creative, use teamwork, and collaborate to solve problems and climb to the top of the leaderboard. Teams can complete the easy challenges first to get a head start, or jump straight to the more difficult clues to earn big points. Either way, your group will be scrambling to complete all the challenges before time runs out.

The scavenger hunt clues include fun intellectual riddles and entertaining physical challenges that take teams on a whirlwind tour around Seattle.

HOW IT WORKS

Your group will be broken up into teams and challenged to solve scavenger hunt clues taking them on a journey around Seattle. Each team will need one smartphone to download the team building app from the Apple App or Google Play stores. When it’s time to start, teams log into the activity and start solving challenges around Seattle. Every challenge that teams complete correctly will earn points to help them climb to the top of the leaderboard. The team that collects the most points before time runs out will be named the Wild Goose Chase champions.

Check out our video introduction to our smartphone app:

Some teaser missions to give you an idea of what to expect

From teppanyaki routines to bizarre public art displays, everyone will be laughing hysterically!

COFFEE BAR STAR | 250 POINTS:
Create a great Benihana-calibre teppanyaki routine at the condiment stand of your local coffee shop.

GREEN WEAVER | 500 POINTS:
Create and then photograph the most useful thing you can knit, weave or otherwise fashion out of plastic grocery bags.

This is a fun Mission if teams start it early enough in the game to have time to think about the item they’re going to create. Team members can really show off their creative and eco-friendly sides with this Mission and the other team members are always surprised when they discover that one of their own can make a doormat from a handful of plastic bags!

HAIRY SCARY! | 1000 POINTS:
Make a Nagi Nodo critter from human hair. A bald man with a live mammal on his head will also be considered!

This is a great Mission but one that is not often completed by teams. First, find out who Nagi Nodo is (short version: she’s a Japanese artist who created AMAZING sculptures out of hair … while it’s still on their head!) Then, teams have to plan their sculpture and beg, borrow or steal the materials to make it happen. We personally think finding a man with a mammal on his head would be easier, but a handful of teams have given it a good try. The animal of choice seems to be a big, fluffy, abstract sheep!

FRENEMIES | 250 POINTS+:
Photograph the team re-enacting the splashing-in-a-fountain scene from Friends. Water must be involved and more water means more points!

This Mission is a great way to cool off on a hot day, and we’ve learned that there are very loose definitions of fountains. Pouring a bottle of water on your team mate is a type of fountain, we suppose.

The team absolutely loved the activity and it really got their competitive spirit going! Travis was great. He was really helpful with identifying which activity would work best, providing feedback from others within our company, and flexible with all of the changes I needed to make prior to the event. ”

This could not have gone any better! I was a little worried starting out just because this was a group of folks that started the week barely knowing one another and were from multiple client companies. We’re excited to look at future opportunities to incorporate your activities into our curriculum. ”

The team loved the challenges and it was a perfect fit for our team building purposes. Your staff were fantastic, very thorough, responsive and helpful. The directions were clear and the app worked flawlessly on all devices. The leaderboard made the tracking and results fun and easy to celebrate. Thank you for a great experience!! ”

Keep your boat afloat!

In this highly entertaining and engaging event, participants divide into teams and then have the opportunity to build a real boat constructed from cardboard. This boat will be built and then evaluated in a number of areas including presentation, design, USP/marketing, cohesiveness and finally, functionality.

Yes, this means that each team will be putting at least one member into the boat to compete on the water in a navigational challenge. Winning the boat race will not guarantee the overall win, but it will be a big factor (and provide a ton of laughs!)

Request More Information

During the course of the event, teams will have to deal with several curve balls that are not uncommon in the real world, new requirements, staff changes, etc.

At each stage teams will have the opportunity to change roles so that everyone in the group has a chance to be project lead. At the end of the building process, teams will put together a group presentation that will highlight their accomplishments and ‘sell’ their boat to the client.

Then, the actual boat race begins. You’ll be amazed at what can actually float and make it to the finish line. For those who don’t make it, it’s literally sink or swim (life jackets will be provided).

Finally, there will be an awards presentation where the coveted Cardboard Shipwright Contract will also be given to the winning team.

This is a very popular fun event – and one with take-away lessons will benefit your business for a long time into the future.

Add some energy to your next retreat. Check out this group having a blast together and cheering everyone on. This is a PERFECT event for any incentive group looking to have a great time together in a resort setting!

We can run this event anywhere, in any time frame, for any group size

Typically this activity is run outdoors at a park with a nearby body of water. Although you’d think this is a hot weather event only, recently we’ve run this fun activity in the dead of winter using a hotel’s indoor pool. You can do the “build-a-boat” portion inside a conference room, then head to the pool deck for the exciting races.

Typically we require up to 3-4 hours with your group with the actual activity lasting approximately 2-3 hours, although this is completely flexible.

And yes, like almost all our team building activities, this event is completely scalable for large groups of any size.

Multi-Day Senior Executive Motivation Event (Seattle, USA)

Microsoft OEM Marketing had a new team of managers. Their Director wanted a challenging multi-day event that tested the team, forced interaction amongst the group and excited and inspired them too. We custom designed a 2-day Amazing Chase experiential event, with professional facilitators, luxury transportation and a variety of unique experiences along the way. This is what they said…

Branding & Motivation Event (Vancouver, Canada)

Working with an American event planning firm and their client, a global vehicle manufacturer, we created a community give-back motivation event, called the “Western Star Indy 500”. A sub-theme of the event was the design and construction of a giant 3-D corporate logo, including 3-D jigsaw pieces signed and inserted by each participant into the back of the logo, committing them to the future of the company and strengthening its brand across the dealerships. The completed logo is now proudly displayed at their manufacturing plant to serve as a permanent reminder of the teamwork, the creativity and the commitment of all those involved.

Learning, Development & Reward (Puerto Rico)

Copart is the largest car auction company in North America and was planning a Sales Incentive to Puerto Rico. They wanted an employee engagement initiative that would bring their 300 sales associates together in a collaborative manner while having fun and learning more about old San Juan. There also needed a Facilitated debrief to tie in corporate messaging. We were pulled in to design and execute a custom GPS (Great Pirate Scavenger) and make sure the business components and incentive event were seamless.

Sales Incentive (Quebec City, Canada)

As a celebration of their sales results, the International Sales Team at FedEx was rewarded with a multi-day incentive to Quebec City. During one afternoon, we delivered a custom version of our CI: The Crime Investigators program, including a storyline specific to the logistics business and individuals from FedEx as real characters in the crime. The group loved the industry tie-in and the character involvement, making it even more memorable for the Sales Team. Here’s their feedback…

Reward Experience (New York, USA)

Without ever having worked at this upstate New York resort before, we delivered a highly custom program based around the award-winning Survivor TV show. Our version, the Corporate Castaways, included authentic music, fire-brimmed torches and real characters from the TV show, providing all the atmosphere of the real thing. This was a very important client event and every aspect of the incentive activity was delivered with extraordinary attention to detail. This is what the planner said to us after the event…

Incentive Thank You Event (Spain)

A North American meeting planner contacted us to re-invigorate an event they had planned in Barcelona, Spain for one of their valued clients. They found working with locals challenging, since they weren’t familiar with a popular North American theme the client wanted, and decided upon having our team head over to plan and implement their event would be a better solution. We stepped in to take over the event and with very short turnaround delivered The Amazing Chase event in the heart of this beautiful European city. The client was not only excited by the result, but very relieved to have discovered our company as the solution!

The feedback I’ve received regarding the teambuilding GPS Event was very positive. As a matter of fact, we sent out a post conference survey and the majority of the group responded that the teambuilding portion was the most beneficial and enjoyable part of the conference. It was amazing to say the least. The way your Lead presented to our executives was very impressive. The whole team enjoyed working with her immensely. The program was well put together and organized. Thank you.”

– Copart

Thank you for doing such a great job for us during the meetings we hosted last week. Both team building functions went off without a hitch. Your dedication to excellence, commitment, desire and professionalism all came through in your work and we gained from it. Thanks again for a great job.”

– Daimler/Freightliner

We were elated with the overall success of the event. During the sales process you were always available for me to discuss options, details and changes which were imperative for me to feel secure about the investment. The facilitator was diligent in encouraging the communication exchange between team members until the late hours of the evening. I’ve been receiving feedback from numerous participants who were amazed and excited about their experiences during this event. We at Microsoft OEM Marketing Thank You! ”
